President

This is a volunteer position that can be split into two Co-President positions.  The office of the President is filled by election of the current SAAG membership in March.  

Below is a list of tasks for this position.

  • Preside at all membership, Executive Board of Directors, and monthly Board of Directors meetings  

  • Reserve the right to call any special membership, committee, Board of Directors, or Executive Board of Directors meetings deemed necessary

  • Establish a quorum and call meetings to order

  • Cast one vote on matters of business

  • Assist in designating Chairpersons to serve on the Board of Directors

  • Uphold SAAG Bylaws and assist in changes to the Bylaws as needed

  • Sign official SAAG documents as needed

  • Sign checks at the request of or in the absence of the Treasurer 

  • Oversee the Gallery Branch of the Board of Directors including, but not limited to, the Gallery Manager, Reconciliation Manager, Operations & Property Manager, Supply Coordinator, Cashier Trainers, Free Drawing Coordinator, Merchandise Manager, POS & Inventory Manager, Shift Calendar Manager, Printing Coordinator, Gallery Facebook Coordinator, Sling Art Coordinator, Jewelry Coordinator, and Card Coordinator

  • Write the President's letter for the monthly Newsletter

  • Review all information published in the Member and Patron Newsletters

  • Collaborate with all members of the Executive Board and Board of Directors to ensure the success of the Guild and Gallery

  • Perform duties incidental to the office of the President

  • Orient the new President as needed

  • Actively recruit new members of all ages and walks of life
