This special event celebrates the wildlife of the Sonoran Desert through artwork inspired by the region’s animals, birds, and natural landscapes. Guests will enjoy artist demonstrations, meet the creators behind the work, and sample appetizers provided by Villa Peru Modern Peruvian Cuisine.
Several talented regional artists will be demonstrating their techniques during the event:
Gillian Allard will showcase her intricate tapestry mosaic technique, creating mosaic “paintings” of flora and fauna using glass, ceramic pieces, beads, shells, and other materials.
Eric Black, a master pencil artist, will demonstrate his detailed wildlife drawing techniques, revealing how careful observation and precise pen work bring animals to life.
Elsa Jackitch will discuss her photography process and share how she captures the distinctive beauty of the Desert Southwest through landscapes, wildlife, and historic architecture.
Aleta Menard will demonstrate oil painting at the easel, illustrating how layered brushwork and rich color blending create vibrant wildlife scenes.
DA Sieloff, Lead Designer of Kit Keystone and a third-generation award- winning artist, will demonstrate her distinctive leather artistry.
The event will also feature a special guest appearance by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute, which will share information about its programs and participate in the evening’s raffle by donating tickets.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a gift card from Villa Peru, while enjoying an expanded selection of artwork from participating artists.
The event is free and open to the public, and all art enthusiasts are welcome.
