Gallery Manager
This is a paid position and is currently filled. The Gallery Manager serves on the SAAG Board of Directors.
Below is a list of tasks for this position.
Oversee the SAAG Gallery Management Team (SGMT)
Report directly to the Executive Board of Directors and President on a regular basis
Represent the SGMT in Board meetings by presenting the status of each Gallery Committee
Work with Center Management to uphold lease
Work with the SGMT to ensure each Manager and Coordinator has trained a member as a backup
Update/maintain Cashier Book of Instructions
Update/maintain Customer Relations processes and procedures
Train all staff on best practices for sales
Schedule and conduct quarterly forum meetings and New Artist Orientations
Coordinate with the SGMT to create unified material for trainings
Provide the Newsletter Coordinator with upcoming training session information and/or other Gallery information
Work with the Merchandising Manager and the Merchandising Committee by assisting wherever needed
Create and maintain New Artist Welcome Packet, both paper and electronic, and incorporate updated procedures from the Executive Board, Board of Directors, Coordinators, Managers, and/or the SGMT as needed
Provide artists with feedback on performance of shift duties including, but not limited to, clerical errors, cleaning the gallery, conversations with customers, and conversations among artists
Maintain security protocol for the Gallery
Work with POS & Inventory Manager to maintain codes and resolve POS and/or artists’ point of sale issues
Utilize POS reporting to spot training trends
Work with Shift Calendar Manager to discuss Gallery staffing
Assist with conflict resolution
Refer artists’ inquiries to the appropriate manager
Manage Pass On Book
Manage Suggestion Box and discuss with the SGMT
Handle any customer issues e.g., returns that cannot be resolved by the cashier
