Secretary

This is a volunteer position that can be split into two Co-Secretary positions.  The office of the Secretary is filled by election of the current SAAG membership in March.

Below is a list of tasks for this position.

  • Attend Executive Board of Directors and monthly Board of Directors meetings and cast one vote on matters of business

  • Take accurate minutes and keep an archive of all SAAG Executive Board of Directors and monthly Board of Directors meetings

    • Record attendance at meetings

    • Record all motions, decisions, and votes at meetings

    • Distribute copies of Executive Board of Directors meetings to the Executive Board of Directors promptly after meetings

    • Distribute copies of monthly Board of Directors meetings to Executive Board of Directors and Board of Directors promptly after meetings

    • Record all corrections to minutes

  • Maintain copies of SAAG’s Bylaws and the Gallery Policies and Procedures Manual

  • Sign official SAAG documents as needed

  • Assist in designating Chairpersons to serve on the Board of Directors

  • In the absence of the President and Vice-President, chair Board meetings until the election of an alternate President

  • Provide support to any branch of the Organizational Chart at the request of Executive Board members

  • Collaborate with all members of the Executive Board and Board of Directors to ensure the success of the Guild and Gallery

  • Perform duties incidental to the office of the Secretary

  • Orient the new Secretary as needed

  • Actively recruit new members of all ages and walks of life
