Artist Statement
My goal in painting a scene, is communicate a sense of place by using values, color and composition. Living in Tucson gives me an unlimited number of beautiful scenes, desert landscapes, mountains, architecture. One of my favorite places to paint, over the last 12 years, is in the Tucson Barrio One of the things I love is how much the people enjoy seeing an artist painting in their neighborhood. They’ll sometimes check to see if we need anything or sometimes to share stories of the many changes they have seen in the Tucson.
Very often they have purchased my paintings fresh off the easel. Tucson also is a wonderful place to paint landscapes, which I have been enjoying lately. I’m about to update my website to include these paintings. Please look me up.
I’m represented by: Tucson Desert Art Museum and Four Corners Gallery. Tubac Center for the arts, gift store. I have been juried into many shows throughout my years of painting.
I’m an artist member of Sonoran Plein Air Painters, Arizona Plein Air Painters and The Barrio Painters of Tucson.
